Stereoscopic 3D Workshop

Stereoscopic 3D Workshop

November 7, 9 ,14,16, 2011

Todd Margolis and Tracy Cornish presented a Stereoscopic 3D Workshop for the VIS171 Digital Cinema class of 20 undergraduate students. It was the students’ first encounter creating content in S3D. We developed a workflow for Sony Vegas that accommodated the students’ use of both the Sony 3D Handycams and Sony Bloggies and playback on the Sony 3D TV. All projects were edited on Sony VAIO 3D laptops. There were four classes in total. The first was an introduction to 3D, and how to use the cameras. The second class and third class was dedicated to the editing workflow. The final class focused on the presentation and discussion of the projects. One project, Drop, was included in the curated 4K/HD 3D Cinegrid Exchange Screening at Cinegrid 2011.
