| Introduction |
CRCAnet, developed by and based at the UCSD Center for Research in Computing and the Arts will link several locations on campus with a high-speed network capable of handling the speed and flow of information needed for new high-resolution, realtime arts and music applications. CRCAnet will enable a fundamental transformation of how the campus arts community works with media files in research projects, performances, classroom presentations, and advanced studies in the arts. CRCAnet will significantly improve the flexibility and degree of integration of existing campus based arts computing facilities. As a realtime media network, CRCAnet will serve as a campus prototype for instructional and library reserve media computing, networking and archiving. |
