Internet Piano Performance
Distinguished faculty pianists
Professor Anthony Davis (UCSD) and Professor Kei Akagi (UCI)
collaborate on a duo concert performed live in two cities simultaneously.
Using a Yamaha Disklavier computeriazed piano on each campus,
the pianists will perform togeather via internet, and the performance
of both pianists will be heard on the pianos in both locations.
The concert will feature works by both Akagi (performing in Irvine)
and Dvis (performing in La Jolla), and realtime duos using interactive
software by UC professors Christopeher Dobrian (UCI) and Miller
Puckette (UCSD), UC researchers Michael Zbyszynski (UCI) and
Harry Castle (UCSD), and others. Also, pianist Andrews Infanti
offers a sneak preview of an upcoming perofrmance of Philippe
Manoury's "Pluton" for piano and computer.
Technical Requirements
