CRCA Facility / Location Change for 2004

Directions below map.

From the North:(NOTE: on the weekdays and eves you will need a parking permit)
Take I-5 south to the Genessee Avenue exit west, right at the red light onto Genessee. Go up the hill to N. Torrey Pines Road and make a left at this intersection. Make the next left, at the next stop light, onto North Point Drive. At the second stop there is a UCSD parking booth. Stop here for a parking permit and a map that you can use. Request directions to lot P502 on Voigt Drive. The Calit2 research institute is across from this lot on Voigt Drive. CRCA is located on the first floor of Calit2, just past the elevators off of the main entrance. The New Media Arts Wing is along this side of the building, to the right of the main entrance.

From the South:
Take I-5 north to the Gilman Drive exit. Turn left at the light on to Gilman Drive. Travel ~ 3 miles through two red lights. Once you reach the underpass the UCSD Information booth will come up on your right. Stop here for parking permit on weekdays; on weekends no permit is needed. Parking on this side of campus is at the Gilman Parking Structure. This is the intersection of Gilman Drive and Villa La Jolla Drive. Turn left into the Gilman Parking structure. Walk out of the structure and turn right to Russell Lane. Follow Russell Lane and the continuation foot walkway to cross the next two roads (Lyman Lane then Mathews Lane). Continue straight on the walkway between buildings until you reach a large, open area with a grass commons and buildings surrounding. Head diagonally to the right and proceed along walking paths between the new bioengineering building and the new computer science building. You'll next see the large boulder Bear by Tim Hawkinson (part of the Stuart Collection of public artworks on campus). Behind the Bear, on the far side of this courtyard is the main entrance to Calit2.

PLEASE NOTE: The courtyard and main entrance to Calit2 is currently still under construction. To enter the building you will need to walk around the periphery until you reach Voigt Drive. On the north side of the building, across from the parking lot, is the north end of the pedestrian walkway leading under the institute. The temporary entrance is a stairwell door to the left of this subterrainian walkway. CRCA is at the top of the stairs, on the first level.

CRCA-Related Events

Over the summer CRCA takes a break from public events, so we try to promote activities and public presentations by our researchers. These may take place anywhere throughout the United States or internationally, and some have net components that allow you to view or interact with them remotely. We hope you will check back again for other exciting offerings by CRCA artists and researchers, and drop us a line if you'd like to be placed on our email announcement or event list: crca@ucsd.edu.

Have a great summer!
